75221 Imperial Landing Craft Pre review

75221 Imperial Landing Craft

Let’s take a look at one of the sets coming summer 2018!

The Imperial Landing Craft is a 636 piece set and is rumored to be retailing at around £80 – £90. This is an updated re-release of a previous version originally released in 2007 (set 7659). With 11 years gone by since the previous version, we are very excited about this set. This will be released as part of LEGO®’s summer drop and is set for release in August of 2018. This set comes with 5 minifigures including R2D2, two Sandtroopers, Obi Wan Kenobi, and a shuttle piolet. The Sandtrooper’s feature two different looks with one looking like a commander or Sargent. We aren’t quite sure why they have released Obi Wan with set maybe some more troopers would have been a better accompaniment.

Looking at the ship you can instantly see there has been quite a lot of changes made from the previous release although it is still the same ship. The design looks a lot more durable and sturdier as is the case with most of the newer sets. The sticker detailing looks fantastic and the overall white design rather than the grey looks fantastic. The wings once again look like they are able to flap up and down, it also has some neat landing gear. The ILC comes with stud shooters on both sides.

We have no images of the interior yet so it will be interesting to see whether we will be able to fit more than one minifigure inside.

This set looks to accompanied by a number of new LEGO® sets, including:

  • 75203 Hoth Medical Chamber 255 Pieces
  • 75213 LEGO® Star Wars Advent Calender 307 Pieces
  • 75214 Anakin’s Jedi Starfighter 247 pieces
  • 75216 Snoke’s Throne Room 492 pieces
  • 75218 X-Wing Starfighter 731 pieces
  • 75220 Sandcrawler 1239 pieces
  • 75221 Imperial Landing Craft 636 pieces

All sets are scheduled for an August release except the Advent Calender which is released a month later in September. We may see a few more sets from Solo: A Star Wars Story to be added to this lineup.
